Above is the new LFSTL designed New Balance 577 nicknamed the Cockroach. I had to of course blog this joint due to its nickname alone (I know some of you readers have cockroaches, so don't front). They say that roaches can adapt to all surroundings and maybe thats the same idea behind this shoe. The shoe pays homage to the city of Rotterdam where all the distinct colors find there place in their everyday architecture. Numerous materials are used on the shoe to help the silhouette stand out even more. I assume this shoe will be on many peoples short list so be on the watch out. New Balance x Hanon x Ventile - M670

New Balance’s M670 has been used in a nice collaborative effort with Hanon Shop out of Scotland to create two new pairs of kicks based around Ventile fabric, a durable all-weather cotton. The designs of the two M670s are based off of the RAF Tornado and Spitfire, two famous World War II era planes, and the Ventile Fabric itself was used in fighter pilot suits from that time as well. Both colorways are undoubtedly clean, and should find more than a few fans of their good design and interesting material choice. Ventile Fabric isn’t necessarily the flashiest of materials, but it has a legacy of sturdy, reliable wear, and definitely gives these shoes a good look. As they dropped in primarily European and Australian locations on the 6th, Americans might have a hard time finding these kicks; a shame, as their solid colorways and classic looks definitely create a great collaborative project. Kanye Debuts New Song; Lil Wayne Wins At VMA's

Cash Money Records rap star Lil Wayne and R&B crooner Chris Brown emerged as winners Sunday (September 7) during the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

Lil Wayne, who took home the award for Hip-Hop video of the year for his Static Major-assisted hit "Lollipop," was very brief in his acceptance speech with only three acknowledgements.

"Thank God. Thank my family and thank y’all," said the rapper, whose performance was introduced by Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps.

With Leona Lewis providing vocals on the hook for "DontGetIt," Lil Wayne finished his energetic set with "A Millie" and "Got Money" with T-Pain...

Other VMA performers included LL Cool J, Pink, Lupe Fiasco, Paramore, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry and Kanye West, who closed the more than two-hour show with "Love Lockdown," a new song that is expected to appear on his upcoming fourth album.

West's performance came in direct contrast to his boycott of the VMAs following his criticism of last year's show...

New Balance - Spring 2009 Preview - WSA Show

With the Germany New Balance Spring 2009 Preview taking place early last month, another preview was held recently at the WSA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, revealing additional products. Many of these sneakers were creatively and colorfully designed such as the pink, light blue, and yellow pairs of the Gore-Tex MT580s, the fine Italian leather 991s, and the patent leather red/pink/white 966s, inspired by the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. Also seen at the event was the 998 Zip Runner Hybrid, as shown at the Germany Preview. Again, these sneakers, along with additional models, will be available at New Balance retailers next Spring. via Complex
